(Video) Embarrassing as DSS Clashes with Prison Officials to Re-Arrest Emefiele Despite Court Bail

We strongly condemns the shocking re-arrest of the suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele. This occurred shortly after he was granted bail by the court in the sum of 20 million naira. The incident has sparked nationwide outrage and raised serious concerns about the sanctity of the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary.

Despite the court's decision to grant bail, the Department of State Services (DSS) re-arrested Mr. Emefiele, adding tension and complexity to an already contentious situation. We swiftly released a statement expressing deep concern and disappointment over the DSS's actions.

We emphasizes that it is illegal for the DSS or any law enforcement agency to disobey a court order, as it undermines the rule of law and erodes public trust in the justice system. We also highlights that the current administration led by Bola Tinubu should ensure full respect for the court and uphold the principles of justice and accountability. Social media platforms are flooded with expressions of solidarity, as citizens demand accountability and an impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mr. Emefiele's re-arrest.

As the situation unfolds, We remains committed to monitoring and advocating for justice. The organization calls for those responsible for the re-arrest to be held accountable for their actions.

The nation and the international community closely watch this critical issue, as it raises fundamental questions about the state of justice and the rule of law in Nigeria.
